Long Bay Baptist Church was established in 1978 and has always been keen to be an integral part of the local community. All that we do is based on our understanding that God has shown us Himself in Jesus Christ, and He calls us to discover life and purpose by following Jesus and sharing His love with others. We meet the needs of people from childhood through to the elderly. We also provide support to immigrants, operate a foodbank, and provide housing for those struggling with mental health issues.
Our commitment to Jesus is expressed in baptism, and church involvement. A sense of being family is a huge priority for us. Our family celebration time on Sunday mornings is always a highlight of our time together! As a church in Auckland we value our bi-cultural journey and the mutli cultural nature of our gatherings. Those of all ages are valued, and encouraged to be involved in our worship services and in our ministry. Children and youth have programs designed to help them develop friendships and life skills.
We are part of the Baptist Union of churches here in New Zealand, and we both offer, and receive, support from our Baptist family. Our close relationship with other local churches is also valued. Our desire is to continue to be a pivotal part of our Long Bay community offering support, friendship, faith and life.
